Honours Degrees

UNSW Arts & Social Sciences offers one-year, full-time undergraduate honours degrees for high achieving students, as well as an integrated honours year as part of some bachelor degrees such as Social Work.

Honours is available for students who have completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant UNSW degree program, as well as students who have completed a recognised Bachelor degree or equivalent at another institution.

Our honours program allows you to complete a stand-alone honours year (48 units of credit) in the subject area you studied within your bachelor degree. Our honours programs may be completed either full-time or part-time.

You can find more information by going to Applying for Honours.

Develop Your Research Skills

Honours study enables you to connect your undergraduate study with the opportunity to embark on a significant independent research project and advanced coursework study.

An honours year will advance your analytical and research skills, deepen your knowledge of your discipline area, and allow you to find solutions to complex social and global problems with intellectual independence.

It's your pathway into a graduate research degree, including a Master of Research or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
