Listening In: Improving Recognition of Community Media to Support Democratic Participation and Wellbeing

Current project

This project examines how indigenous and community media can contribute to mainstream media and policy. It involves the development of policy recommendations and practical guidelines to support effective responses to community media.

Our research aims to improve community wellbeing and democratic participation for Australia’s diverse communities. It assists community media producers, mainstream journalists and policymakers to develop good practice and ensure the voices of marginalised communities are heard.
