How are promotional meaning techniques expressed in video game trailers?
The purpose of this research is to investigate narrative meaning in video game trailers: making sense of promotional strategies and storytelling. To further investigate how viewers make sense of the promotional, storytelling, rhetorical, and pretextual aspects of video game trailers. This study examines how video game trailers influence viewers and prospective players. In this thesis, research a growing trend of viewers seeking information before making their online or in-store purchasing decisions. Precisely, it will analyse the promotional relationship between online trailers, sentiment, word-of-mouth, customer reviews, ratings and comments to identify whether how storytelling influences viewer perceptions as reflected in the research findings.
