Summary

This research investigates the ways high school students participate in lessons, such as paying attention (behavioural engagement), asking questions (agentic engagement), summarising notes (cognitive engagement), and being interested (emotional engagement). Following the theoretical framework of Self-determination theory, these measures are used in quantitative statistical analysis to identify student engagement profiles.
