Graduate Diploma in Education

Overview

An initial teaching qualification that is your preparation for teaching in secondary schools.

The Graduate Diploma in Education will provide you with a strong year of preparation for teaching in secondary schools. It is a great choice for students with an undergraduate degree in a subject of teaching specialisation.

This initial secondary teaching qualification is recognised in both government and non-government schools in New South Wales and all other states in Australia.

This program is also widely accepted as a teaching qualification overseas.

Structure

This program is normally undertaken full-time over one year or part-time over two years.

During the program you will complete a range of core courses, method courses and 60 days of professional experience, including 50 days of supervised teaching practice in at least two different secondary schools.

Mid-year entry into the program is normally not available.

This program will enhance your career options and professional advancement within a broad range of educational institutions, including early childhood, primary, secondary, vocational, workplace and tertiary teaching.

Many of our graduates progress into specialist fields of education by developing and extending their understanding of a critical area of education.
