All graduating students must register with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) (Formally BOSTES). To obtain approval to work as a teacher in NSW, you need to apply to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) for a Statement of Eligibility for Accreditation to Teach. The institute will assess your qualifications in order to determine the subject(s) you are qualified to teach in NSW public schools.
Register with the NESA
New and returning teachers will apply directly to NESA for provisional or conditional accreditation.
The new, simpler process will include:
creating an online account
completing an online application for accreditation
providing qualifications for assessment, and
applying for a Working with Children Check
The streamlined process for new and returning teachers and school staff is a result of recent amendments to the Teachers Accreditation Act 2004.
