Position Yourself for Future Employment Opportunities in Gifted Education

GERRIC at UNSW School of Education supports the NSW Department of Education’s revised High Potential and Gifted Education Policy which will be operational in all NSW Schools by Term 1, 2021. Our research is heavily featured in the Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation (CESE) Literature Review which accompanies the policy and provides a major support resource.

The policy identifies that a broader approach is needed to ensure all students who are gifted or have high potential maximise their learning outcomes. Our Mini-COGE contributes to one of the policy’s key actions to “build teacher and leadership capacity through engagement with quality research and ongoing professional learning on effective practices”.

Katherine Thompson explains the importance of the various Gifted Education workshops offered by UNSW School of Education, as well as the school holiday programs that cater to gifted students and parents of gifted children.
