CSRH has been commissioned by ACT Health to undertake research to examine stigma and discrimination experienced among priority populations affected by sexually transmissible infections (STI) and blood borne viruses (BBV) in the ACT.

The aim of this research is to, research and benchmark best practice in the delivery of services to people living with STIs and BBVs in the ACT and surrounding region.

This study employs a mixed methods design including a systematic audit of existing health services for these priority populations in the ACT, interviews with key stakeholders from these organisations, interviews with members of those key affected populations to provide in-depth insight into their experience of stigma and discrimination and a short survey to develop an understanding of the context and impact of stigma and discrimination for people living with STIs and BBVs.
