Build Your Professional Skills
The UNSW Bachelor of Education will prepare you to pursue a career in secondary school teaching. This degree is recognised as an initial teaching qualification in both government and non-government secondary schools throughout Australia and overseas.
Through this degree, you’ll be well-versed in the areas of educational psychology and educational theories, pedagogy, assessment, diversity, inclusivity, indigenous perspectives and classroom management.
We place great importance on practical experience. Our students will develop skills in the classroom and gain practical experience teaching by their second year of study. We have strong industry partnerships that provide our pre-service teachers experience working in, or even observing cutting-edge programs in classrooms.
You’ll have the opportunity to bring your passion for design to life through classroom experience, professional learning and development. Students can focus on a particular career path, through flexible learning, online and intensive courses.
You can complete your professional experience in a variety of locations including schools in Eastern Sydney, rural and remote schools, and overseas. Upon completion of your degree, you’ll have completed up to 80 days in supervised teaching at least three secondary-school contexts.
Specialise in Design
