Parenting and providing support for parents has been identified as a priority issue for the Australian Government. Insight is required to the need or nature of a national policy framework specifically focussing on parenting to underpin, imbed and drive policy and practice. A comparative analysis (drawing on practices in the EU and other countries) on parenting policy would valuably complement work already done in this sphere, to assist the department, government and the community more broadly, to consider and develop an optimum framework under which parenting policy can be progressed.
