The SPRC will deliver a report that comprehensively examines and analyses the barriers to mature age workforce participation, including age discrimination. Themes to be covered include: statutory policies pertaining to the retention and hiring of mature age employees and job seekers; statutory policies covering income support/tax and superannuation arrangements as they affect mature age employees and job seekers. A literature review will also focus particularly on workplace-based arrangements conductive/not conductive to mature age employees remaining in or re-entering employment, and on studies concerning the perspectives and attitudes of employee and employer organisations with respect to mature age employment, retention and hiring. The SPRC will also deliver a research proposal for a national survey of the attitudes of mature age employees, mature age job-seekers, employee organisations (trade unions) and employer organisations.
