Development of a minimum data set of workforce indicators

Past project

This project developed a workforce indicators framework to inform workforce planning and development in Ageing, Disability and Home Care in NSW, and assist with monitoring workforce change through a period of sectoral expansion and policy change. The methodology comprised a review of literature and existing workforce data sets, as well as interviews with key stakeholders including representatives of funded service provider organizations and peak bodies. The research identified four key messages: that there are multiple benefits to improving workforce information for funded organizations and policy makers; that data systems require further development; that there is scope to improve the use of workforce data by funded organizations; and that the current context of person centred approaches to policy and service delivery compound the importance of workforce information and monitoring.
