School of Humanities and Languages

The School of Humanities and Languages has a distinguished record of scholarly achievement in humanities, general and applied linguistics, literature and country-specific area research. We are internationally regarded for our teaching and research contribution to Asian and European languages, linguistics, cultural and area studies.

Interdisciplinary collaboration is a distinguishing feature of the School, with an active and intellectually stimulating research culture.

School of Social Sciences

The School of Social Sciences is an exceptional community of scholars who are at the forefront of a wide range of social science and humanities disciplines and professions, including anthropology, criminology, sociology, social work, economics, political science, international relations and international studies.

Our academics contribute expert opinion and scholarly knowledge to many policy fields including social policy, economic policy, education policy, public policy, criminal justice policy, industry policy and development policy. The School has strong links with the international research community and has an established visitor program.

School of the Arts and Media

With prominent academic staff, innovative teaching and research, plus state-of-the-art facilities the School of the Arts and Media (SAM) is a recognised leader in the creative and performing arts. The School provides an energetic and supportive environment which ensures learning is flexible, stimulating and rewarding.

Every semester, SAM supports a wide range of activities including live theatre and dance performances, concerts, research seminars, media events and installations and film screenings.
