The past decade has seen several studies indicate that migrants of sub-Saharan African backgrounds often adopt less healthy dietary and physical activity behaviours after migrating to Western countries which may lead to increased risk of weight-related diseases. My research teases out the underlying factors associated with these issues and draws attention to promising interventions for health promotion.
