Grenville Rose

Adjunct Lecturer

Grenville's current projects with the Centre for Social Research in Health (CSRH) look at the relationships between identity and recovery in a mental health setting. In the past, he has worked with CSRH on the stigma surrounding Hepatitis C, mental illness and injecting drug use. Grenville was President of the Hepatitis C Council of NSW (now Hepatitis NSW) for 5 years and served on the board of that organisation for 8 years. Other research interests include learning styles in tertiary educational settings and community pharmacy. His PhD is in sensory science, specifically the development of human food preferences through exposure to tastes. This is a largely applied field and six postdoctoral years were spent working to increase the appeal of the products of multinational food companies. He is very happy to be now working with the Centre for Social Research in Health and Flourish Australia ( a mental health NGO), although the pay is not nearly as good.
