Emma is a UNSW Scientia Associate Professor, and former Australian Research Council DECRA in the Centre for Social Research in Health, Faculty of Arts, Architecture & Design. She is interested in the sociology of health and illness, and her research draws on a range of case studies to provide a critical sociological analysis of advanced illness and end of life care, mapping its character and significance. Her program of research comprises a series of projects focused on relationships in/and health care, health care practice, diversity and social justice.
