From Invention to Witness: Fiction-based Research and a Systemic Criminality

There is a paradox at the center of this research project as there is with many exercises in Creative Practice: the need to express what has not been experienced, to be witness to what has not been seen. As so often arises from a reflection upon distressing social events, the absence of any authority to witness co-habits with a compelling obligation to witness. The five short stories constituting the core research activity of this project will not serve as a testimony recreating what happened, but instead an attempt to recreate some correlative to what happened.
