Ash Watson

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr Watson is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Vitalities Lab, Social Policy Research Centre and Centre for Social Research in Health, UNSW Sydney. She is interested in speculative futures, storytelling, digital design, and the creative turn in sociological research. She works with Professor Deborah Lupton (UNSW) and Professor Mike Michael (Exeter) on the ARC Discovery Project 'Living with Personal Data: Australians’ Understandings and Practices'. She is a former postgraduate Endeavour Research Fellow at Goldsmiths, University of London, and her PhD was awarded by Griffith University in late 2018. Ash is the creator and editor of So Fi Zine, an innovative open access publication for arts and social science cross disciplinary inquiry with a sustained international readership and contributor pool. She is also the invited inaugural Fiction Editor the The Sociological Review's short story series.
