Education Majors & Teachers Needed Internationally!

Have you always wondered how you can help in other countries? There are many places that need your skills:

LEBANON: Syrian Refugees - Training Teachers

One out of four people in Lebanon is a Syrian refugee. The Lebanese schools could not absorb all the Syrian kids, so Syrian refugee adults created this small school system. The Education Director said, "In Syria, school is very boring; a lot of rote learning. Here is Lebanon, we have the opportunity to make education much for interesting for the kids."

This small school system has an exciting Applied Science program and graphic arts and art program. A mechanical engineer teaches about electricity and car engines. Kids are super engaged in robotics and wild inventions. The teachers are Syrian refugee adults who would like to learn more about teaching techniques from seasoned teachers. They also welcome Education majors to teach English, art, math, computers. Other subjects require Arabic.

PERU: Sacred Valley - Teaching in Rural Schools

The schools in the rural villages do not have enough teachers. They welcome trained teachers & Education majors who can teach and strengthen their staff. The Sacred Valley is where Machu Picchu is, so this valley is rich in Inca history.

Spanish is a must; Quechua is also helpful. You are also well located to visit Cuzco, Lake Titicaca and the Amazon.

UGANDA: Secondary School

Do you excel in and can explain writing and grammar? Math, Physics, Chemistry and/or Biology? We need you!

In Uganda, the president skims the money off the top so no money goes to the government schools so the teachers don't show up. Penniless citizens start schools such as this to meet the need. There are 70-100 students per class. Teachers and tutors are urgently needed to give more individual attention to students.

The first goal is to see that these youth can get high marks on the National Examination so that they can get a scholarship to Makerere, Uganda's best university. Second goal is to ignite a passion for learning.

Experienced teachers wanted to mentor overwhelmed Ugandan teachers.

HONDURAS: Literacy, Laptops & STEM

For years this organization taught English as for many all over the world, English helps the poor out of poverty. They have ratcheted up the program, and now emphasis children learning to read and use computers. They want the Honduran kids to really have command in the 21st century. Spanish is helpful but basic Spanish is ok.

PERU #2: Tutoring

Families flock from the altiplano to the cities looking for work. There is none so their kids shine shoes to feed the family. Tutor kids that were recently street kids and help them with their homework. Help them make a new life for themselves. Spanish helpful but not mandatory. The kids will teach you! This program is located in spectacular mountains - I would say as magnificent as the Himalayas.

GHANA: After School Tutoring & Enrichment Program

At the edge of the capital, when father goes out to sea fishing and mom works at the beach drying the fish, many kids skip school. This organization's staff walk through the neighborhood to draw in the truant kids; to re-engage them in learning through their tutoring and enrichment program. Ghana is one of the drumming-est countries in Africa; known for its friendliness & beautiful coast, Come help!

NEPAL: Alternative to Trafficking

This stellar organization works in remote rural villages of Nepal where sex traffickers prey on young woman. They teach young women English, literacy and ways to make a living so they have a brighter future. You must be physically fit to make the trek to the villages. We need you!

CAMEROON: Women Learning to Read & Write

All over Africa, many women over 30 can not read or write. They were left out of an education. Their father would say, "I have just enough money to pay your brothers' school fees. You are only going to be a wife." Girls now are included in education, but older women who were left out yearn to learn to read & write. Come help!

UGANDA: Helping Launch Early Childhood Education Program

This program is in some of the most beautiful mountains of Africa - feels a lot like Switzerland. This organization was founded to promote "girl child education". Until recently, girls were left out of education. Now they would like help teaching the adult women literacy & numeracy, and laying the foundation for Early Childhood Education Program. This is in beautiful mountains of Uganda...reminded me of Switzerland. Come help!

INDIA & THAILAND: Special Education

Help children with development disabilities: autism, mental retardation, ADHD and learning disorders. In both of these countries, these organizations are breaking new ground.

NEPAL #2: Teaching English

This school director believes English is the ticket out of poverty so he is looking for people that can teach English in Kathmandu. If you have experience in teaching your help is needed in curriculum development and pedagogy. If you love mountains, Nepal is amazing.

Please read NGOabroad website and send BRIEFLY answered Questionnaire and resume in the body of an email to info@NGOabroad.com
