GERRIC and UNSW School of Education does not officially endorse these services, but encourages parents and teachers to use this list as a springboard for their own research and investigations.
Accommodation near UNSW
There are many accommodation options on and around the UNSW campus. Please find below a summary of the different locations. When making inquiries mention you are attending a UNSW event for special rates (available in some places). On UNSW Australia campus There are two residential colleges which offer their rooms for booking during the uni holidays. The biggest advantage is proximity. While the accommodation is simple it is relatively inexpensive.
- New College Village - Rooms are available for short stays during UNSW vacation breaks at the end of June/July and from November to February. During the UNSW study session, a small number of rooms are open for casual accommodation bookings. These rooms are in demand so it is advised to book well in advance. New College Village is air conditioned and all rooms have kitchen facilities, an ensuite bathroom, work area and telephone. There is weekly housekeeping and bed and bath linen is provided. Shared laundry facilities are available and internet access is an additional cost.
- Shalom College - Shalom College is located at the heart of the UNSW Kensington Campus in Sydney, opposite the University’s Village Green Oval. Casual accommodation is only available outside UNSW semester dates - generally from mid-November until mid-February and for three to four weeks in July. The College has wireless internet. Casual guests may purchase internet plans from $5 per GB (valid for up to one month).
