The Gifted Education Research, Resources and Information Centre (GERRIC) is situated within the UNSW School of Education, a research-intensive school involved in many high-level projects at the national and international level.
Our academic staff share a strong commitment to researching and improving learning and teaching and building stronger educational communities. Modes of educational enquiry range from experimental, interventionist and action-oriented forms of research, through ethnographic and case study research to more philosophical and critical forms of educational inquiry. In 2011, our researchers compiled the Releasing the Brakes report (PDF) on educator and parent attitudes toward academic acceleration, supported by the John Templeton Foundation.
