Dean's Student Leadership Awards

The Awards recognise students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership which has contributed significantly to the University and broader community over the past year. The program is open to Undergraduate, Postgraduate Coursework and Higher Degree Research students who may be nominated in one of the following four categories:

Academic Excellence Leadership

In recognition of students who have demonstrated outstanding scholarship in their area of study, contributed significantly to academic life on campus and/or has represented UNSW Arts & Social Sciences in an academic capacity.

Social Engagement Leadership

In recognition of students who have demonstrated outstanding Social Engagement leadership through contributions such as creating a just society, contributing to a Grand Challenge, participating in a research project or knowledge exchange which has positively impacted a community or UNSW network.

Global Impact Leadership

In recognition of students who have made an outstanding contribution to a global development program or activity aimed at improving the lives of marginalised and disadvantaged communities.

People & Culture Leadership

In recognition of students who have made an outstanding contribution to university culture or campus life by actively participating or leading projects, creative performances, societies or clubs. Where initiatives promote a supportive culture, that embraces change and continuous improvement for diversity and inclusion.

Eligibility criteria

  1. Nominees must be enrolled in an Arts & Social Sciences single or dual degree (irrespective of administrative Faculty program owner).
  2. Nominees can be full time or part time, and can be from any of the three academic cohorts, Undergraduate, Postgraduate Coursework and Higher Degree Research.
  3. Nominees can be nominated in one category only.
  4. Nominees must be in good academic standing.
  5. Nominees can be nominated for activities from the previous or current academic year.
  6. Nominations will only be accepted once for a particular activity the student is being nominated for.
