Sydney Writers' Festival Competition!

With Sydney Writers’ Festival 2017 just around the corner, we’re super pumped and on the lookout for a bunch of talented students to get involved. Represent UNSW and show off your fantastic writing skills!

Win a FREE ticket to the acclaimed Sydney Writer’s Festival, become a festival blogger, and get amongst all the action! The winners will have their work published on the Arts & Social Sciences website and social media. 

How to Enter

In 100 words or less pen a creative elevator pitch outlining why you’d be a great festival blogger and what you’d bring to the Sydney Writers’ Festival. Be as creative and imaginative as you like!

In 150 words write a review telling us about a recent event you attended and your experience.

Submissions should be sent to studyarts@unsw.edu.au subject line: SWF Competition.

Prize Package

  • Free entry to an event at the renowned Sydney Writers’ Festival, Walsh Bay, Sydney.
  • A published written piece on the UNSW Arts & Social Sciences webpage and social media accounts – great for your portfolio or LinkedIn profile.

Winners will be announced on Friday 5 May.

Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions

  • Competition open to UNSW Arts & Social Sciences students only.
  • One submission per student.
  • Students will be representing UNSW and must behave appropriately at all times.
  • Students will also be filmed for an event highlights video.
  • Winning students must be able to attend one of the Sydney Writers’ Festival events supported by UNSW Arts & Social Sciences between 25-28 May.
  • Students to send Arts & Social Sciences their short review (300 – 400 words) of the event the day after their allocated event.
  • Competition closes Friday 28 April 2017. 12 Winners will be chosen to represent UNSW.
  • Applicants should note their email and phone numbers in their entry email.
