Undergraduate Program Changes 2012
In 2011 UNSW commenced a review of all undergraduate programs to provide greater flexibility within stand-alone and concurrent degree options while ensuring they maintain the high quality academic experience UNSW is known for. (A concurrent program enables you to study two degree programs at the same time: e.g. B Arts/B Music or B International Studies/LLB.)
This process has resulted in new and revised programs being available in 2012 for both new and continuing students. Some programs have undergone minimal revision and others include more significant changes, so it is compulsory that you read this information and complete the online process.
What do you need to do?
1. Read this update
2. Click on the link below which will take you to our ‘Program Simplification Portal’ site for specific degree information
3. Log into the portal with your zpass to access information about updates to the program you are enrolled in
4. Confirm that you have read the new rules, understand them and how they affect you and then either accept the program structure or submit an online enquiry if you have further questions
What are the overall changes?
- Greater freedom to choose ‘free electives’ in most programs, from within and outside Arts and Social Sciences
- A more consistent, modular structure for concurrent programs
- Increased flexibility to transfer between programs, while meeting entry requirements, with maximum credit transfer possible
- More summer term courses
- Opportunities to undertake a range of undergraduate Diplomas concurrently with your degree. New Diploma options will be added to those existing in Languages and Music.
