UNSW Western Campus Building Fire

  • Posted: 30th August 2010

At approximately 11:40am on Sunday 29 August 2010 a fire broke out in the Western Campus Building at UNSW. The building housed the university’s Social Policy Research Centre (SPRC) and Indigenous Policy and Dialogue Research Unit (IPDRU). Fortunately no one was injured, however, the building suffered extensive damage. SPRC and IPDRU staff will be re-located to other parts of the University over the next few days, with business expected to resume by the end of the week. Given the significant impact of this situation understanding would be greatly appreciated from Centre collaborators and funders while the logistics of this move are negotiated.

Any questions may be directed via email to sprc@unsw.edu.au or by telephone on (02) 9385 7800.

We are expecting to experience one or two disruptions to our phone service. Should this occur please contact SPRC via email or try again at a later time.

Please direct deliveries to:
