• The Gene Technology Ethics Committee (GTEC) provides advice to Australia's Gene Technology Regulator on ethical matters relating to the regulation of gene technology. GTEC has recently completed a consultation draft National Framework for the Development of Ethical Principles in Gene Technology. GTEC invites comments on this document by 28 October 2005. The Framework and further information about GTEC is available from the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator website http://www.ogtr.gov.au/new/index.htm.
