 Call for Papers

Rodin's 'The Thinker'

  Invitation

Interested academics and practitioners are invited to submit proposals for presentations to be given at the forthcoming AAPAE conference. Such presentations can be based on a refereed paper, non-refereed paper or an abstract. The standard length of a presentation is 40 minutes. This conference offers the opportunity for papers to be refereed and published in accordance with DEST standards and submitted for later publication in a journal.

Important: You are referred to the Key Dates for this conference.

  Refereed Papers

Authors of refereed papers are required to submit a full paper prior to their presentation at the conference. Submissions should included:

  • A paper, 3000-5000 words in length
  • An abstract, 100-200 words in length
  • Brief biography of the author

Papers are accepted on the basis of a double-blind refereeing process. Authors are then notified of the outcome of the refereeing process and invited to make revisions if necessary.

Important: You are referred to the Format section below.

  Presentations & Non-refereed Papers

A request to make a presentation should include:

  • An abstract, 100-200 words in length
  • Brief bibliography of the author

These items may be submitted to the Conference Convenor by filling in a submission form in the relevant section of this website.

Authors of non-refereed papers are not required to submit a full paper prior to their presentation at the conference. However, a full paper may be submitted later for publication with refereed papers. They should comply with the same standards of format and length required of referred papers.

  Mode of Submission of Papers

Papers may be submitted to the conference organiser using one of the following modes of submission:

  • Send a hardycopy or CD copy by mail.
  • Send as a file attachment to email.
  • Send by using the online submission form. This applies only to a copy of the abstract of your paper!

When you are ready to submit, go to the submission section of the website for more details.

  Format

Refereed papers are required to conform to the following standard:

  • No name of author on first written page or in headers.
  • A cover page: title of paper, name of author/s, address, full contact details.
  • A clear and concise title that properly reflects the paper's content.
  • An abstract (100-200 words) that accurately summarises the contents of the paper.
  • Any citation and documentation style is acceptable, though endnotes rather than footnotes should be used.
  • Use single quotation marks for a quotation within a quotation.

  Publication

There will be the opportunity for authors of either refereed or non-refereed papers presented at the AAPAE conference to submit their papers to be considered for inclusion in a special issue of the Australian Journal of Professional & Applied Ethics to be published subsequent to the conference.
